For our second Spotlight, all eyes are on our Puppet Master: Jessica Scott
Originally from San Francisco, Jessica Scott is a self-taught visual artist, director, performer and teacher living in NYC. Her design work includes puppets, special effects, dolls, masks, installation and sculpture. She was the designer and puppetry director of Mabou Mine’s Porco Morto and is currently collaborating with Lee Breuer as the puppetry director, puppet designer and lead puppeteer on his opus La Divina Caricatura, and is the Puppetry Associate for Big Fish, which premieres on Broadway in October 2013. Scott has also worked on Bjork’s music video for “Wanderlust” and Flight of the Conchords “Demon Woman”.
Scott also teaches puppetry technique to MFA students and toddlers alike, and founded Standard Toy Kraft, a 3000 sq ft art space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where she teaches her own puppetry workshops.
